David Bendix Nielsen (b. 1993) is a Danish/Hungarian organist based in Copenhagen. He is educated from the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg with Binde Bryndorf, Hans Fagius and Wolfgang Zerer. He received his Master's degree in church music in 2017, and debuted as a concert organist in 2019. David is currently the organist of St. Mark's Church in Copenhagen, and teaches at the Church Music School of Zealand. He has previously held assistant positions at Roskilde Cathedral and Holmens Church.
David is an active recitalist, and has performed at venues such as St. Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey in London, Basilique Sainte-Clotilde in Paris, Basel Münster as well as festivals in Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. He is also active with various ensembles such as the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Phil and Theatre of Voices.
David has received several awards and grants for his work, most notably the Léonie Sonning's Talent Prize in 2018 and The Young Artistic Elite from the Danish Arts Foundation in 2022/23. His first solo organ album "Bach & Pärt" was released by the label Orchid Classics in 2022.
David is the artistic director of the concert series “OrganDreams" and the ensemble Arte Divine.
He is currently involved in the theater piece “Detached from Others” with Convoi Exeptionnel, which premieres in february 2025 at Dansehallerne, Copenhagen.
